Excerpt from the lead article:
There are people in our club who feel the need to sail regardless of water temperature … we have been on the water in June, July, August and September and proud of it!
19th June H.T. 12.30 our first sail of the winter, 12 members attended racing using the laser, moth, seabird, and starling. Tom arrived in his Hartley once he had bailed it out.
There was a steady breeze, but I won’t mention the capsizes. After 2 ½ hours on the water it was time to retire to the comfort of Chris’ house.
With all sailors safely back on shore it was time to celebrate Jill’s 50th birthday … the BBQ was fired up, the corks popped and it was party time. Families arrived with all the trappings for a feast, a great tribute to Jill who works so hard for our club.
